  The Honorable Judge Robert Allen Edgar (Al Edgar), a Munising native, will present a guest Constitution Day lecture at Northern Michigan University titled “The Supreme Court Unhinged: A Retired Federal Judge’s Perspective on the Constitution and the Supreme Court.” The event will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Sept 17, in room 2904 of NMU’s Science Building. As summer begins to wind down, it is time to come out and hear the music for the final Music on Third of the season! On September 19, from 6-8 pm, Third Street will come alive with local musicians showcasing their talents. This month, enjoy 16 locations, each giving you a unique show to experience and a new band or musician to find. New for September is the street closure of the event area between Arch Street and College Avenue with a through way at Hewitt Avenue. A detour is available by Fourth Street as shown in the images below.

Copper Shores Outreach & Education is pleased to announce a series of free Narcan training sessions aimed at equipping community members with vital skills to respond to opioid overdoses and save lives. They will take place on September 10 in Lake Linden, September 19 in Houghton and September 23 in Baraga.   Naloxone (Narcan™) is a life-saving medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. Baraga – Benefit for WIC Nurse Jessica Tollefson

Friday September 20, 2024 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm the KBIC Health System is hosting a benefit for our WIC nurse Jessica Tollefson. Jessica was diagnosed with Colorectal cancer in February of this year.  There will be a basket raffle and the Dog Father will be donating a portion of the proceeds to the family for medical expenses. The benefit will be at the Mikinaak Snack Shack (formally the BP gas station).
