Marquette County Habitat for Humanity is hosting a square dance at Willow Farm, in Harvey, on Saturday, September 28th, from 5:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This high-spirited event will feature live music by the Feltliners, offer a cash bar, fare from the Frenchtastic food truck, auction items. There are only 150 tickets available, with proceeds benefitting Marquette County Habitat for Humanity. Marquette, MI – The Iron Ore Heritage Recreation Authority is rescheduling its monthly board meeting to Monday, September 30 starting at 4:30pm at the Ishpeming Multi-purpose Senior Center, 121 Greenwood Street, Ishpeming. The IOHRA is the caretaker of the Iron Ore Heritage Trail, a 47-mile, year-round, multi-use, interpretive trail that crosses the Marquette Iron Range in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Referred to as an outdoor linear museum where you exercise your body and mind. Northern Michigan University’s jazz ensembles will return to the Reynolds Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30 for their first concert of the fall 2024 season. This event is free and open to the public. Northern Michigan University will host a grand opening garden party for its new Campus Nursery as part of the 125th anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 1. Participants are invited to tour the garden and learn about native plant species and efforts to increase biodiversity on our campus. There will also be an opportunity to get hands dirty by helping with fall tree and bush planting. Light refreshments will be served. The nursery is a collaboration between NMU Grounds, Facilities and SHINE (Sustainability Hub for Innovation & Environment).
