Keweenaw National Historical Park, the Keweenaw NHP Advisory Commission, and Isle Royale and Keweenaw Parks Association scheduled the unveiling of four sculptures on the landscape at the Quincy Dry House Ruins along US-41, Thursday, September 26, from 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.; all members of the public are invited to attend. Northern Michigan University’s DeVos Art Museum will host an artist talk and reception featuring Liz Ward and Robert Ziebell at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26. The artists will discuss their work currently on display. Their project titled “Across Time and Place” explores the artists’ approaches to understanding and interpreting place through multimedia artworks. Their works examine the nuance of place and delve into the richness of our world today and in past periods. Ziebell’s career spans 30 years. The Finlandia Art Gallery will present Foretelling the Future, Reflecting the Past, a textile exhibit by Laura Foster Nicholson. The exhibit will be held at The Finlandia Art Gallery, located in the Finnish American Heritage Center (FAHC), Hancock from September 26 to November 13, 2024.
