Village of L’Anse/DDA announces its free 2024 Lakefront Concerts schedule, Thursday, June 13 at 7 PM The concerts are held every Thursday in the beautiful lakefront park at the foot of Broad Street at the lake. Suicide Prevention Walk set for September 14, 2024 Copper Shores Community Health Foundation is honored to be hosting the eighth annual Suicide Prevention Walk on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Ray Kestner Waterfront Park in Houghton, from 1 to 4 p.m. Join Copper Shores and the Houghton Keweenaw Suicide Prevention Coalition to promote awareness, provide support and highlight valuable local resources dedicated to suicide prevention. The Suicide Prevention Walk will feature an inspiring guest speaker, whose insights and experiences shed light on the crucial work being done in our community. Come to the Lake Linden Campground for the annual Spooktember costume parade and contest! This Saturday, Sept. 14th, starting at 6pm, kids of all ages from 1 to 100 (and pets!) in costume can register to participate. At 7pm the parade will wind around the spooky campground. Impress the judges with your costume! Prizes will be awarded in several age groups (including a pet category!) so be creative. After the parade, Trick-or-Treat at all the campsites while waiting for the winners and even stay for the kids movie in the pavilion at 8pm!
