The Houghton High School Drama Club will present “Murder Runs In The Family” Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th at 7:00 PM and Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 PM. Performances will be presented in the Houghton High School Alumni Auditorium. Director David Crowley says the play is the story of an eccentric group of family members who gather for the reading of the patriarch’s will, each bringing with them a copy of their own fake will. Chassell – Blood Drive

BLOOD DRIVE Thank a veteran for their service and help a community member by donating blood.  The Chassell Post 6507 VFW and Auxiliary will be hosting a blood drive on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024 from 3pm-6pm.  Appointments are available by calling 906-449-1450, but walk-ins are welcome.     All blood donated through the UP Regional Blood Center stays in the Upper Peninsula and helps patients in need at one of the 13 UP hospitals.  One donation can save up to 3 lives, and there is an urgent need for all blood types!  All donors will be entered into a drawing to win $50 in Keweenaw Cash that can be used at any of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce participating businesses. Northern Now Features Virtual Cooking Segment

Northern Michigan University Alumni Relations will host a Northern Now digital event for alumni and friends that features a virtual cooking segment with students in NMU’s hospitality leadership program, under the guidance of instructor/chef and 2010 alumna Alden MacDonald. The segment will be available at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 13. Students will prepare dishes that represent them as culinarians, showcasing skills they’ve learned throughout their educational journey at Northern. They will be cooking inside the state-of-the-art kitchen in the Northern Center – the home for the NMU hospitality leadership program – and guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the facility virtually. Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry

Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, November 14. The distribution of food will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 550 families.
