Lake Linden – Annual Spooktember

Come to the Lake Linden Campground for the annual Spooktember costume parade and contest!  This Saturday, Sept. 14th, starting at 6pm, kids of all ages from 1 to 100 (and pets!) in costume can register to participate.  At 7pm the parade will wind around the spooky campground.  Impress the judges with your costume!  Prizes will be awarded in several age groups (including a pet category!) so be creative.  After the parade, Trick-or-Treat at all the campsites while waiting for the winners and even stay for the kids movie in the pavilion at 8pm!

American Patchwork Quartet Performs at NMU

Mural Unveiling at Marquette Senior High School

Mural Unveiling Marquette Senior High School is excited to announce the unveiling of a new mural designed by local artist Chelsea Monaghan. The unveiling will take place on September 16, 2024, at 5:00 PM, followed by the Board of Education meeting at 5:30 PM in the MSHS Library. The mural highlights school spirit, featuring the Sentinel logo designed by Matt Sia and pictograms of iconic Marquette landmarks. The artist, along with members of the school administration, will be present for a photo opportunity. Members of the media and the public are invited to attend the mural release, as well as the regularly scheduled board meeting.

NMU Hosts Guest Constitution Day Lecture Titled ‘The Supreme Court Unhinged’

  The Honorable Judge Robert Allen Edgar (Al Edgar), a Munising native, will present a guest Constitution Day lecture at Northern Michigan University titled “The Supreme Court Unhinged: A Retired Federal Judge’s Perspective on the Constitution and the Supreme Court.” The event will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday Sept 17, in room 2904 of NMU’s Science Building.
