Northern Now Features Virtual Cooking Segment

Northern Michigan University Alumni Relations will host a Northern Now digital event for alumni and friends that features a virtual cooking segment with students in NMU’s hospitality leadership program, under the guidance of instructor/chef and 2010 alumna Alden MacDonald. The segment will be available at 7 p.m. EST Wednesday, Nov. 13. Students will prepare dishes that represent them as culinarians, showcasing skills they’ve learned throughout their educational journey at Northern. They will be cooking inside the state-of-the-art kitchen in the Northern Center – the home for the NMU hospitality leadership program – and guests will get a behind-the-scenes look at the facility virtually. WOMEN’S DAY OF REFLECTION AT ST. MICHAEL PARISH, MARQUETTE

    Church cantor and writer, Melanie Coddington, returns to Marquette from her home in central Virginia to lead a free Women’s Day of Reflection on Saturday, November 16 at St. Michael Catholic Parish in Marquette. The day will begin with continental breakfast at 9 a.m. and conclude at 3:30 p.m. ET. Lunch is included. Chelsea Cutler & Jeremy Zucker to Perform at NMU

Multi-platinum solo artists Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker, who released their new album brent iii today, will make a stop at Northern Michigan University on their “Brent Forever: The Tour” on Saturday, Nov. 16. The doors to the Berry Events Center open at 6 p.m. Opener Adam Paddock, a Nashville-based artist whose discography is described as “the intersection between energetic pop and intimate singer-songwriter,” takes the stage at 7, and the headliners will follow at 8. Chassell – Let’s Eat Community Meal

Let’s Eat Community Meals is now in its tenth year of operation and we are proud to have served over 25,000 meals in this time.   The meals are always on the second Sunday of the month (at St. Ann’s) in Baraga and on the third Sunday either in  Chassell (at Holy Trinity) or Hancock (at Gloria Dei or Resurrection Church or Lighthouse United) from 4 to 5:30 pm and are free.
