Michigan Tech University’s Theatre Department is curating lights, sounds and animations to resurrect the Halloween spirit of the Keweenaw. Instead of relying on traditional haunted house themes, this event focuses on evoking unsettling sensations through creepy elements like clowns, mannequins and other dolls – and eerie visuals. Visitors will travel through dimly lit, spooky themed sections, encountering unsettling sounds, and multiple automated effects that will heighten the scare factor. Rocky Horror Show at NMU

NMU Fall Semester Job Fair

  Northern Michigan University’s 57th annual fall semester job fair will take place from 1-4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30, in the Northern Center ballrooms. The job fair offers students and alumni a one-stop opportunity to receive information about a wide array of career possibilities from participating employers in attendance who are recruiting for full-time and part-time jobs, as well as internships and seasonal employment.   For more than two centuries, Mary Shelley’s 1818 Gothic novel Frankenstein has remained a favorite within the horror fiction genre. NMU Hosts Indigenous Perspectives Symposium

  Indigenous artists from across the region will gather at Northern Michigan University to share their perspectives on film, paintings, music, sculpture, literature and other arts.  The inaugural Indigenous Perspectives Symposium is free to the public and scheduled for Friday, Nov. 1, in the Northern Center. Women in Construction Event at NMU

  Northern Michigan University’s construction management program is hosting Women in Construction Day on Friday, Nov. 1 in the Jacobetti Complex. This hands-on career exploration event will be presented by dynamic women working in the industry and offer high school students an opportunity to discover options traditionally viewed as male-oriented. Students will complete projects such as welding, graphic technology, woodworking, trade opportunities, leadership, and/or construction management. There will be lunch, a prize drawing and trade show.
