Copper Shores Outreach & Education is hosting a free two-day Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) on Monday, October 28 and Tuesday, October 29 at the MUB Alumni Lounge on Michigan Tech’s campus. This two day workshop runs from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. each day, teaching people the skills the help prevent suicide, and how to intervene to help keep someone safe from suicide.   Those who partake in ASIST include both trained professionals and members of the general public. Dead River Bridge Walk for Diabetes

 A Dead River Bridge Walk for Diabetes has been set for Sunday, October 13th, from noon – 3 with walk from 12 to 1pm with options for drawings and resource fair to follow. The event is centered at the picnic area of Marquette Tourist Park, 2145 Sugarloaf Ave. in Marquette, Michigan, hosted by the Marquette Lions Club.
