A Feeding America West Michigan mobile food pantry is coming back to Ontonagon on Wednesday, September 4, 2024. The mobile food pantry will be held at the Ontonagon Village Fire Hall at 315 River St, Ontonagon beginning at noon. Each visit from the mobile food pantry will provide a variety of foods, including fresh produce and dairy items, to approximately 300 families on a first-come, first-served basis.

Donate blood on Wednesday, September 4 and Thursday, September 5 at the Michigan Tech Blood Drive and become a hero for patients in need Heroes come in all shapes and sizes. They don’t wear capes or special suits, and their badge of honor is the bandage that shows they gave the gift of life. The community is invited to become a hometown hero and answer the call of patients in need by donating blood on Wednesday, September 4 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm and Thursday, September 5 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Memorial Union, 1400 Townsend Drive, Houghton, Michigan

Village of L’Anse/DDA announces its free 2024 Lakefront Concerts schedule, Thursday’s at 7 PM   The concerts are held every Thursday in the beautiful lakefront park at the foot of Broad Street at the lake.  There is limited seating, so bring a chair or blanket to sit back and enjoy the good sounds, good vibes and million-dollar view. 9th ANNUAL ALSTON TRACTOR RACES – Antique Gas & Diesel Tractors Saturday, September 7th, 2024 Fast & Slow Races Race is held on Hoover Road in Alston, MI (next to the ball field) Time trials start at 10:30am, Races to follow Trophies awarded 1st – 3rd Place $25 entry fee per tractor entered – Every participant will receive a shit honoring Clyde Peterson.
