The Houghton High School Drama Club will present “Murder Runs In The Family” Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th at 7:00 PM and Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 PM. Performances will be presented in the Houghton High School Alumni Auditorium. Director David Crowley says the play is the story of an eccentric group of family members who gather for the reading of the patriarch’s will, each bringing with them a copy of their own fake will. Before any of the wills can be substituted for the real one, though, people start getting murdered.  Throw in the requisite stormy night,

Chassell – Blood Drive

BLOOD DRIVE Thank a veteran for their service and help a community member by donating blood.  The Chassell Post 6507 VFW and Auxiliary will be hosting a blood drive on Veterans Day, Monday, November 11, 2024 from 3pm-6pm.  Appointments are available by calling 906-449-1450, but walk-ins are welcome.     All blood donated through the UP Regional Blood Center stays in the Upper Peninsula and helps patients in need at one of the 13 UP hospitals.  One donation can save up to 3 lives, and there is an urgent need for all blood types!  All donors will be entered into a drawing to win $50 in Keweenaw Cash that can be used at any of the Keweenaw Chamber of Commerce participating businesses. More info/tips about donating: —eat a decent meal and drink lots of fluids before donating —it should be at least 8 weeks since your last donation —donors need to be at least 17 yrs old (or 16 with written parental consent). –you must weigh at least 110 lbs you should be in general good health and feeling well at the time of donation –you may give blood even if you are on medications (most medications are ok, but if you have any question, you can call the Blood Center at 906-449-1450 to check)

The Zion Lutheran Church on the corner of Skanee and Roland Lake Roads in Skanee,  has brought back its Community & Hunters Supper by popular demand. All are welcome so please come and join us from 5:00pm – 8:00pm on Saturday November 16th for a Turkey dinner with all the fixings. Let’s Eat Community Meals is now in its tenth year of operation and we are proud to have served over 25,000 meals in this time.   The meals are always on the second Sunday of the month (at St. Ann’s) in Baraga and on the third Sunday either in  Chassell (at Holy Trinity) or Hancock (at Gloria Dei or Resurrection Church or Lighthouse United) from 4 to 5:30 pm and are free. They are provided by volunteers with sponsorship from a local organization. Each of the 12 months of the year is covered by a different organization.    The next meal is
