Chelsea Cutler & Jeremy Zucker to Perform at NMU

Multi-platinum solo artists Chelsea Cutler and Jeremy Zucker, who released their new album brent iii today, will make a stop at Northern Michigan University on their “Brent Forever: The Tour” on Saturday, Nov. 16. The doors to the Berry Events Center open at 6 p.m. Opener Adam Paddock, a Nashville-based artist whose discography is described as “the intersection between energetic pop and intimate singer-songwriter,” takes the stage at 7, and the headliners will follow at 8. “The Last Five Years” at NMU

NMUDoIt, a student theater group established early this year at Northern Michigan University, will present its first full-length production—the musical The Last Five Years—at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 14 through Saturday, Nov. 16, in the Panowski Black Box Theatre. Former ACLU President Addresses Free Speech in Higher Education at NMU

  Nadine Strossen, past president of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), will present “Free Speech and the Crisis of Higher Education: a Conversation with Nadine Strossen” at Northern Michigan University. The event is scheduled from 1-2:40 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in 1320 John X. Jamrich Hall. A leader at the forefront of constitutional law and civil liberties for decades, Strossen has testified before Congress on multiple occasions and addressed diverse audiences around the world through media commentary and presentations at more than 500 universities. She was quoted most recently in an Oct. 23 New York Times story related to free speech titled

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly Annual Thanksgiving Dinner

Little Brothers – Friends of the Elderly will be hosting their annual Thanksgiving Dinner Parties on Thanksgiving Day at 1pm at multiple sites throughout five counties.   They invite people age 60 and older who will be alone on the holiday to attend.
