Northwords and Music:  Surrealism Show

Michigan Brewers Guild Marquette Beer Festival

Members of the Michigan Brewers Guild are returning to the Lake Superior shoreline in Marquette’s Mattson Lower Harbor Park for the 15th Annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival on Saturday, September 7 – which also happens to be National Beer Lovers Day (#NationalBeerLoversDay). General Admission is 1-6pm, with the gates opening at Noon for a VIP hour for Enthusiast Members. Tickets are on sale now at MiBeer.com and are $55 per person in advance ($65 the day of) with Designated Driver tickets priced at $20 (only available at the gate). City of Negaunee Power outage

The City of Negaunee Electrical Department will be having a power outage that will affect the entire city of Negaunee on Thursday morning 9-12-24 at approximately 2:00 am till 5:00 am. The outage is necessary to safely replace a critical piece of equipment that failed at the substation on the corner of US 41 and Baldwin Ave. If you have any questions, please contact the Negaunee Electrical Department at 906-475-9991.

Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry–Harvey

Marquette -Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, September 12. The distribution of food will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 550 families. Due to changes with Feeding America West Michigan, proxy pickup will be limited. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and have adequate space prepared in their trunk or back seat in advance to allow

Marquette Poets Circle

American Patchwork Quartet Performs at NMU

Mural Unveiling at Marquette Senior High School

Mural Unveiling Marquette Senior High School is excited to announce the unveiling of a new mural designed by local artist Chelsea Monaghan. The unveiling will take place on September 16, 2024, at 5:00 PM, followed by the Board of Education meeting at 5:30 PM in the MSHS Library. The mural highlights school spirit, featuring the Sentinel logo designed by Matt Sia and pictograms of iconic Marquette landmarks. The artist, along with members of the school administration, will be present for a photo opportunity. Members of the media and the public are invited to attend the mural release, as well as the regularly scheduled board meeting.
