UNVEILING OF THE CITY’S NEWEST PUBLIC ART SCULPTURE ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings’ stone sculpture to be installed in Marquette, MI Marquette, MI ­- The City of Marquette announces the installation of the ‘Seven Grandfather Teachings’ sculpture by artist Jason Quigno to occur Friday, September 6th. The sculpture has been commissioned by the City of Marquette Public Art Commission. Prize-winning Percussionist to Perform at NMU

Percussionist Britton-René Collins, Grand Prize winner of the 2022 Yamaha Young Performing Artists Competition and the 2021 Chicago International Music Competition, will perform at Northern Michigan University as part of the Siril Concert Series at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6. She will also present two additional free events earlier in the day: a music appreciation talk at 11 a.m. and a percussion masterclass at 1 p.m. All will take place in Reynolds Recital Hall. Michigan Brewers Guild Marquette Beer Festival

Members of the Michigan Brewers Guild are returning to the Lake Superior shoreline in Marquette’s Mattson Lower Harbor Park for the 15th Annual U.P. Fall Beer Festival on Saturday, September 7 – which also happens to be National Beer Lovers Day (#NationalBeerLoversDay). General Admission is 1-6pm, with the gates opening at Noon for a VIP hour for Enthusiast Members. City of Negaunee Power outage

The City of Negaunee Electrical Department will be having a power outage that will affect the entire city of Negaunee on Thursday morning 9-12-24 at approximately 2:00 am till 5:00 am. Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry–Harvey

Marquette -Silver Creek Church and Silver Creek Thrift are partnering with Feeding America West Michigan to host a Feeding America Mobile Food Pantry on Thursday, September 12. The distribution of food will begin at 10:00am and continue while supplies last or until 11:30am. Food will be available for approximately 550 families. Due to changes with Feeding America West Michigan, proxy pickup will be limited. This will be a drive-thru event with directions given by parking lot attendants. Guests are asked to remain in their cars and have adequate space prepared in their trunk or back seat in advance to allow
