MARQUETTE CITY MANAGER COMMUNITY OFFICE HOURS

Marquette City Manager Karen Kovacs will hold her next community office hours on Wednesday, October 9 from 10 a.m. to noon in the Shiras Room, on the top level of Peter White Public Library (Front Street side). The meeting is intended to provide an informal opportunity to discuss issues within the community, and to give citizens the opportunity for direct dialogue with City staff about interests and concerns.

Marquette Regional History Center presents: Senior Support Series: Shipwreck!

  Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 1:30 p.m. Regional author Christian Leathers is a current Great Lakes ship pilot. Join us to hear his story of writing the recently published: The Wreck of the Steamer Superior. The 1856 tragedy took place near the Pictured Rocks lakeshore and is described in this book along with the fate of passengers she was carrying. Enjoy hearing this true story directly from the author who researched this seldom celebrated wreck. Artifacts on display for this event will help illustrate the tale. Take part in casual maritime and Lake Superior trivia throughout the program. Book signing after

 Imagine:  A John Lennon Birthday Celebration with Russell Thorburn, Patrick Booth, & Dylan Trost
