Baraga County Holiday Decor Tours   HALLOWEEN outdoor displays must be engaged from 6pm until 9pm from October 21st through October 31st.   CHRISTMAS outdoor displays must be engaged from 6pm until 9pm from December 14th through January 1st.   Share your holiday spirit and passion for decorating by listing your site on the map!  Participate in Halloween, Christmas, or both!  There is no fee to participate and no fee for maps.  Sites listed on the maps will be entered into drawings for Baraga Bucks!

Sonderegger Symposium Focuses on NMU’s Past

For the 24th consecutive year, Northern Michigan University will present its annual Sonderegger Symposium, which focuses on Upper Peninsula history topics. This year’s event will touch on various aspects of NMU’s past in honor of the university’s 125th anniversary. It will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, in the Northern Center ballrooms. Admission is free and lunch will be provided. No registration is required. The keynote speaker will be 1956 Northern graduate L. Sandy MacLean, who received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1986. A noted administrator and educator, he has been a highly respected member

The Houghton High School Drama Club will present “Murder Runs In The Family” Friday and Saturday, November 8th and 9th at 7:00 PM and Sunday, November 10th at 2:00 PM. Performances will be presented in the Houghton High School Alumni Auditorium. Director David Crowley says the play is the story of an eccentric group of family members who gather for the reading of the patriarch’s will, each bringing with them a copy of their own fake will. Finding Nemo Jr

Disney and Pixar’s Finding Nemo JR. is playing at the Forest Roberts Theatre from Thursday, November 7th through Sunday, November 10th.
