Ishpeming Middle School Students Invite Community to Their 5th Grade Farm Stand and Middle School Garden Grand Re-opening

When: Wednesday October 7th 11:15AM-12:00PM

Where: Ishpeming Middle School Garden

Partridge Creek Farm (PCF) , on behalf of Ishpeming Middle School students, are thrilled to invite the community to the 5th grade Farm Stand and grand re-opening of the Ishpeming Middle School Garden. Partridge Creek Farm’s Farm-to-School program has been an Ishpeming Public School District program since 2018, engaging over 100 students each year in hands-on educational experiences that teach students about healthy eating and local food.

The 5th Grade Farm Stand

Since 2021, Ishpeming Middle School 5th graders have put on this Farm Stand as a way to share fresh produce and what they are learning about with the community. Students make posters, set prices, and run their very own farm stands. Everyone is invited to shop for fresh produce, seeds, and tea. This event is cash only, and will run from 11:15 AM-12:00 PM on October 7th, at the Ishpeming Middle School Garden located at 402 Cleveland Ave Ishpeming MI.

Grand Re-Opening Celebration

During the student Farm Stand, Ishpeming students in Farm-to-School programs will be giving tours of the updated Ishpeming Middle School Garden site. These tours will show improvements made to the site thanks to the 2025 Giving Tuesday Campaign.

In 2025, PCF called on their community for support in raising $5,000 to purchase new ADA accessible, USDA approved, Vego brand garden beds to replace the free Community Grazing Beds that line the perimeter of the site and offer free produce to everyone in the community. Thanks to the support of the community, the goal was exceeded and PCF raised a total of $8645.25. Funds raised helped PCF replace 8 of the Community Grazing Beds, replant them with fresh produce, and begin re-doing other elements of the Middle School Garden site like replacing rotting and unsafe garden beds for our students!

Everyone is invited to participate in both the Middle School Garden grand-reopening to learn more about progress at the site, and the 5th Grade Farm Stand. Learn more about this community event at partridgecreekfarm.org/events/student-farm-stand-2026.
