Dementia Live Workshop

November 13

When: Friday, November 13

Where: Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice,  914 W Baraga Avenue, Marquett

Dementia Live, a unique simulation program for family caregivers of people living with dementia, will be held on Friday, November 13 in Marquette.

Dementia Live® is an in-person experience that immerses the non-professional, informal family caregiver into what life might be like living with cognitive impairment and sensory change. Utilizing specialized gear that simulates dementia specific changes that include altered eyesight, hearing and tactile sensation, this safe experience is a powerful and effective tool for family caregivers to increase their understanding and empathy for those living with dementia. Participants will gain a first-hand understanding of the anxiety and confusion associated with dementia. The program empowers participants with tools to improve communication and connection.

Dementia Live will be offered on Friday, November 13 at Lake Superior Life Care & Hospice,  914 W Baraga Avenue, Marquette. Several small group sessions will be held throughout the day. Group size is limited. There is no charge for the program, but registration is required. Call 906-280-8734 or 906-217-3009 to reserve your spot. Registration ends when each session is full or on November 6.

Dementia Live is offered by Upper Peninsula Commission for Area Progress (UPCAP) in partnership with Lake Superior Life Care and Hospice.
